Clear (Ceramic) braces are a great option for those who would prefer a discrete look, but aren’t a candidate for Invisalign (clear aligners). They aren’t particularly noticeable, creating a more appealing overall aesthetic. For this reason, ceramic braces are used mainly on older teenagers and adult patients who have cosmetic concerns. While they are visually less prominent, they do require more attention to oral hygiene as ceramic braces are larger and are more brittle than their metal counterparts.
How Clear Braces Work
Clear braces work just like metal braces. The brackets are attached to the teeth and wire is then attached to the brackets with clear elastic ligatures. The wire is responsible for the movement and stabilization of your teeth.
